Take a minute to back away from your own wants and needs, and reach out to those who might seem shy, quiet, different, ‘weird’, a ‘loner’, etc…. they may need a friend, may be dealing with things in their lives and have no one to talk about it with. One simple ‘hello’ could mean the whole world to them, and change a life. Strike up a convo, ask about something in common, tell them a joke, share some candy, something. You never know what is going on in other peoples lives, and the way they appear, act, shield themselves from others, might be a sign of something else. Be a friend, reach out.
